I am not a kid, I'm an old dude. Probably my earliest memories are playing Pong on our black and white TV, not a cartridge of pong, but a game system with a dial that selected about 5-6 variations of pong/tennis. It was cutting edge at the time. It didn't even have a cartridge slot, it also had a gun on a chord to play games shooting squares. I wish I still had it, but my brother and I tore it apart as kids to explore the parts inside. I learned line numbered basic as a kid and programmed on Atari 800XL, Commodore 64, and a few others, but we owned an Atari 800XL. We had a friend of the family who also was an Atari 8bit fan and the guy gave us 100's of games copied to the big floppy's with no instruction books. My brother and I figured them all out. The original Castle Wolfenstein by Muse, spelunker, Eidelon was good and I think Wizards Crown was my favorite. I bought a copy of that, even though the old hippy programmers who owned the store, offered to let me open and copy it. So life went on, I got married, had kids, got divorced, joined the military and did intel for a few years, and used my GI bill to finish my Engineering Degree. I had bought my Son's the Gamemaker bundles years ago, and I know my son did some Jams also. He is in College at Ohio State now. So I may have a slight advantage when it comes to jams, but to be honest, I had trouble going from line numbered programming to the OOP style. I have done a lot of 3d animation and things over the years, so I can do pretty good, with blender. So anyway, my age has its advantages, but lots of drawbacks also. One I'm busy with more kids, I got remarried to my Awesome wife I met at school, who is from China. I also think its a little harder to teach this old dog new tricks. I like Godot, but the coding goofs me up, its's always just a little issue that stops my projects cold. So anyway, I finally decided to stop and come to terms with the fact that video games have been a passion in my life since I was a baby, which was decades ago, so I have decided to pursue it. Good luck everybody, and if you ever have questions about anything I upload, I'll be more than happy to help you out!
